"Betsy is very patient with me and she really knows her stuffs well! She's also very chatty so this somehow turns every single session into a chatting session instead, but of course, not at the expense of my project :) It's very enjoyable to be able to learn knitting from someone who is so passionate and takes so much pride in her students' works that she wants them to take pictures with their projects so that she can keep them as momentos! Kudos to Betsy for making knitting such a therapeutic and pleasurable experience! I'll definitely look for you in future if I have new projects in mind!" - Yu Lei, 29th Nov 2010

Meet Funky Knitter - Sophia

Edward brought me to a Barista Workshop @Highlander Coffee on my birthday 2 years ago. It was a very fun experience for both of us. Upon learning that I'm Knotty Bicsie, our teacher (the boss of Highlander Coffee) told me then that his teenage daughter is also keen on learning knitting! :) Met her on the 2nd day of our workshop. Very sweet & well-mannered young lady. We exchanged contacts, & we bid farewell... Finally, finally, finally... after 2years, Sophia FINALLY called to say she's ready to start her knitting journey, now that she's completed her 'O' Levels! haha... Here she is with her very 1st knitted project - a beautiful beret!
"Hi! It was really interesting & Betsy is extremely patient with me despite the countless number of times I made mistakes! After this workshop, I will definitely continue to experiment on my own knits. Thank you!" - Sophia, 25th April 2010

Remember Funky Knitter, Irene? Well, she went on from her knitted sling bag to picking up crochet too! She's so motivated, she completed this cute amigurumi Mouse in just 1month, despite the CNY break! Well done, Irene! & now she's moving on to crocheting a tunic top for herself. Lookout for for masterpiece on my blog soon... :)

Meet Crochet Craze - Regina

"Dear Betsy, first of all, a very big Thank You for your patient teaching & guidance during my time here. You made me realize the beauty of doing crochet & the desire to do more during my free time. I have learnt quite a lot of techniques & I love them all. My first piece of crochet project was a memorable one & I am really really glad too. Especially when u commented on my good progress & good technique, although I thought otherwise. Thank you so much!" - Regina Koh, 7th March 2010

Regina indeed has a hidden talent! No doubt a newbie in crochet, but her tension & workmanship is fabulous! She's now learning to crochet flower brooches from me. I'm hoping she'll be convinced soon to make them for sale :) I'm sure in no time, Regina will be a new elf @Knotty Bicsie :P Wait for my good news! ;)

Meet Funky Knitter - Irene

"Thank you Betsy for making my knitting journey possible and I enjoyed every lesson at your studio. Your precise teachings and constant guidance which marks a difference from many other learning places had given me a good foundation of understanding the basics till the final completion of my bag. This drives my motivation in knitting up other projects :-) I will be looking forward to my next project taught by you again. Cheers!" - Irene Chong, 28th Jan 2010

Hand-Stitched Journal Workshop @Civil Service College

I had a fun time with 5 lovely ladies @Civil Service College yesterday morning. They are put in-charged of coaching their colleagues in making something using primarily recycled materials. So my job there was to teach them how to conduct this workshop to all their 50-60 other colleagues :) They were all very sporting & fun-loving. We all had an enjoyable morning...
The very talented Sueann even whipped up a poem especially for me within minutes!
"Betsy's very nice
She taught me a new vice
Measuring, cutting,
Threading, wearing,
With a smile on a face
And a patient grace.
Thanks again, Betsy,
